STaR Lab

The STaR Lab works to prevent suicide among individuals with serious mental illness,
particularly psychosis & schizophrenia spectrum disorders. Scholarship within the lab aims to:

1) advance understanding of factors driving suicide risk and protection
2) develop, modify, and test suicide prevention-focused psychosocial interventions
3) strengthen and evaluate the implementation of suicide prevention efforts to increase
their access, utility, and scalability in practice.

The STaR Lab received funding to host a September 2024 suicide prevention event in collaboration with MICHR and CMH after successful completion of 6 events in September 2023 with MICHR PACE funding:

The University of Michigan Institute for Clinical and Health Research (MICHR) awarded a Promoting Academics and Community Engagement (PACE) Dissemination Grant through the National Center for Advancing Translational Sciences to The STaR Lab in 2023.
